Can piggies get (human) colds?

Well..all in the title really, I think i've got a cold, can piggies catch them? :-\ Please say no

I read another thread about this... it seems if you have a bad cold you should keep away from your piggies AND your hamsters, Jane.

The piggies can't catch colds (viruses) but they can catch infections caused by bacteria - these often cause coughs and runny noses so it's hard to tell which is which. Best keep handling to a minimum.

Thanks..guess they wont be getting any cuddles for a few days then :'( (don't worry, they're still gunna have floor/run time)

Yeah I've been told hamsters can catch them..lovely
