Hello all,

It may be a weird question but are Guinea pigs okay on grass that's been seeded and treated?

Mine are going on holiday to my grandparents house for two wheeks while we are away and the lawn has been fully re-seeded and treated, Is that grass ok for my precious Piggys?

Any advice welcome :)

I agree with @PiggyOwner; I don't think it would be safe. I'd love to have my lawn treated as there are more weeds and moss than grass, but I wouldn't risk it, even after they say that it's ok for dogs and cats to go on the grass. It would also eradicate their favourite dandelions, and I'd feel guilty doing that!

Even if the weedkiller was safe.....they might eat the grass seed......:D

Thanks for the link @PiggyOwner, it's really helpful. Unfortunately, I don't think I could deprive my guys for so long; even if it is only for a few minutes at a time at the moment when it's dry and sunny. I don't think it works if you put it down when the grass isn't growing and I've got a small lawn, so couldn't do a bit at a time.

Oh well...........weedy lawn it is then! I may seed some bare patches though and keep the little ones off those areas.
