Can pigs catch human colds?

Hi all,

I may be being paranoid here (since the loss of my 2 little piggies) everything has got me tearing my hair out with worry.

I have a bad cold at the moment. Can piggies catch colds from humans?/

I have been washing my hands before touching the pigs, or anything to do with the pigs, but I am sneezing and I'm worried they may catch it!

My OH has a stinker atm so I won't let him get too close to the piggies just to be safe

Piggies can catch human colds, but if you take the precautions then they should be ok.

When I have a cold I get OH to do their veggies etc, or use those plastic food preparation gloves from supermarkets as a cold is a virus, hand washing with antibac won't kill the germs I don't think rolleyes
