we have run out of veggies for the piggys :o i was looking at the other foods i could give them, and i couldnt see if they can eat bananas, can they?

They can eat bananas, flesh and skin. Please be careful not giving the piggies too much, as they can get bunged up.

ok can i give them a whole banana or should i give them half as i dont know if they have had it before? and this is going to make me sound stupid:)) but what do you mean by bunged up do you mean they will get fat?

Mine seem to like them quite squihy, and a bit old...Not so old as the skin in really brown...Quite often I'll squish it a bit bfore I cut it up :)

We like to cut the very top/very botom of so they get a bit of skin and flesh. Not too often - they really enjoy it and enjoy pick out the fleshy part from the skin too. :)

My lads won't touch the flesh, but won't leave you alone until they get the skins.

I didn't realise they could eat the skin - very occasionally I give my piggies a tiny amount of banana flesh, but they're not really worried about it one way or another. I might try giving them an end with flesh in at some point - I suspect they'd prefer it that way!

Mine love bananas (and the skins) but are only allowed them a couple of times a week for reasons already mentioned :))

Bernie likes his banana mashed and spread on dry toast..................but then he is rather spoilt.....:red

mine also.. :)) infact when ever we have a banana (near to the end of the week before our weekly shop) that is getting old.. i always cut it up and give that to them.. so i would say that 5 piggies share a whole banana once a week.. and they love them, some like the skin and some don't..:))

Sally has a 1/2" slice of banana on half a weetabix (dry) for her breakfast every day. This is something I started when she was poorly. She is still in my living room, I love having her there, but first one down in the morning has to give it to her or she just won't shut up. x

I have never tried my two boys with banana yet, my previous piggie would eat a bit of banana flesh but only a tiny amount. I didn't even know you could feed them the skin, so might have to try my boys on a bit see what they think.
