Do guinea pigs go into heat and if they do then how old are guinea pigs when they do.?/

from what i know piggies can start going into season at a few weeks old it usually happens around every two weeks although most of the time you wont even know it,but occasionally they get a little grumpy towards there friends its nothing to worry about though xxxxx

There may be another reason why she bites you: mites, rubbing her the wrong way, you taste good...

It is always obvious when my Eliza goes in to season as she becomes really bossy and and struts herself around :))

I have never noticed that the biting of my girl had any connection with her being in season; it was always other reasons - not liking being picked up, handled or, even worse, syringed!

Perhaps you have involuntarily frightened or hurt her early on?

i havent hurt her or frightend her ever but i think that it was just because she didnt like the way i was petting her. It only happens sometimes when i am petting her:)

I said - unintentionally!

I never thought you'd frighten or hurt her deliberately, otherwise you wouldn't be here and asking all those questions, or be so fond of her as you very obviously are...

It is simply the fact that fright or hurt is one of the main reasons for biting, sometimes it can go back to something before you even got her. My biting lady was a very dominant sow; so perhaps it is something in the character that she is standing her ground.

Have an eye out if there is a there certain way you hold her when she bites you?

I would rather like to help you to find a way to make both of you completely happy with each other!
