Just as the title says really. After finding a stray piggie I was wondering rather than going down the handing over to rescue route if I were to find someone myself and rehome him if he would be ok to go with someones existing male?

Generally yes, but it mainly depends on the age of the other boar and careful introduction. However, they can not usually live in trios without falling out.

I have 4 pairs of boys so I would say yes, 2 boys can live together.:)
However, the tricky bit can be the introduction, especially if you are not used to seeing boar behaviour. That is where a good rescue can really help with 'boar dating' and overseeing the introduction phase.

Thank you.

Would it be better to have him neutered and go in with females then? Or best not to have the op and try with a male? If needs be I'd get him neutered before he went to a new home.

I would try male companion first. It's always best not to put them through the op if you can help it. Seeing as he is still quite young, introductions to an older boar would probably work out quite well as the older boar would automatically take the dominant role.
When the time comes there is a Sticky (in this section I think) that takes you through how to successfully introduce boars. It has all you need to know really :).

If no one comes forward for him then hopefully I can find someone with experience who can do what is best for the little lad. :)
