This year, as of January, I lost my very first pig; Chai. She was only 3 years old, which in case you didn’t know before, is a very young age for a guinea pig to pass. She was put to sleep humanly at the vet’s, because of a large tumor in her side. When I say large, a mean BIG. It was larger than her entire body and had began pushing her intestines against one side of her body. I blame myself for not noticing it sooner, as her long fur sorta made it look normal-ish. I assumed she was just overweight and tried to lay off on the pellets. Then, the fur surrounding her bottom became matted with goopy feces. I quickly rushed her to my exotic veterinarian, where we X-rayed her for anything unusual. That’s when we discovered her tumor. It was to large to treat without risking the life of Chai. The next week, her ashes were sitting on my mantel. To my knowledge, the diarrhea was the only visable symptom besides her bulging sides. Does anyone have any idea of what form of cancer, if it even was cancer, it would have been? It would provide me some closure after these long months
