Hello again!
Since i got my guinea pig about month ago he has had this scab on his lower back. First I didn’t really think it could be something bad but now I'm getting worried. I'm going to describe the scab/wound: it is not bleeding, the scab is very soft when it peels off and it takes a pretty big chunck of skin with it, i tried to take the scab off because it was hanging and it kept peeling and peeling, its like soft jelly or I don’t know how to describe exactly. I am not touching or peeling the scab off, I only tried to take the haning piece off and then it happened. Eventually the hanging scab came off and i smelt it and it smells very weird, I would say it smells like some medicine or like old clothes that have been in moist closet.. doesn’t smell like pus tho. I am going to vet too but i want to know opinion before i have the appointment, i am scare

It looks like it is in the area of his grease gland - it might just be a bit dirty. It shouldn’t be taking off skin with it though - are you sure that is what is happening?
There is a section in the guide below which gives information on the grease gland. Give it a read but definitely see a vet if you are at all concerned.
Bathing (including cleaning grease glands)

Oh gosh, i had no idea they have it! I never saw my female guinea pig have that. I tried to wash it with water and it got better. Thank you very much!
