My room gets a bit smelly sometimes having 4 piggies in there and being quite small, with the hay theres like an underlying smell etc ive not had any candles on it there since they came in as I'm not sure whats safe and what isnt.

i have a partylite candle, but I cant find anything on their website about them being safe around pets.

does anyone know any sites that do candles which are safe for around my piggies?
 
personally I wouldnt bother with candels and knowing me I would forget and hay and candles arent a good mix :-\
 
From the safety aspect I wouldn't bother either. a neighbour blew her house up with a candle. Thankfully everyone was ok! Are there any alternatives? I'd like to know too, it's not too bad in our house but I do like a nice smelling house. Maybe fresh florwers. :D
 
Drop Chrissie an email @ Gorgeous Guineas and see if she any aroma beads left ;) They were on the site over Christmas.
 
Ooooh, they sound nice! are they to make the room smell fresh? I used a plug in air freshener (before I knew better) and made Damon ill, so now I wont use anything scented in my room.
 
I'm the same Becca, last time I sprayed Cuzzy came down with a URI, so I won't spray. Besides it's a chemical and I'm not over keen on breathing it in myself. :D
 
What about putting lavender oil ( or oil of your choice) on your light bulb then everytime you put your light on you will get the smell of the oil :)
 
That's a smashing idea Suzanne, I love eucalyptus oil by favourite flowers Tracelium and Lisianthis aren't available all year round! :D
 
Mine are in my shed so when it gets a bit smelly - as always i leave the door open in the daytime sometimes for a few minutes or so - maybe open your window O0
 
Partylites are very safe for your guinea pigs and other pets! I love my Partylite candles O0
 
I have my window open everyday for a few hours, but my mum is always complainig it smells even though they are cleaned every other day and sometimes everday, i get used to the smell as they are in my room i just want it to be nice and fresh smelling :)
 
At the moment my pigs are in my extention when i used to go in there in the morning it stunk i clean then out everyday but you could still smell hay and animaly smell so i bought a plug in lavender it smelt lovely but it is very strong even on low the smell was very over powering when i opened the door in the morning so i turned it off would this halm the pigs :o
 
essential oils will be safe. I put them on my light bulbs too.
But I have to say that the beads from GG are brilliant! I got a free bag with an order before Christmas and I have bought more since. you can just put them around the room or put them in your vacuum so it smells nice everytime you clean!
