i was at petsmart yesterday, at the same time when i noticed the one was ill, and they had a different cage with a few abbys in them. i already have 2 boars, and i dont think OH would be thrilled about another addition, but there is a black and carmel colored aby that i adore! i cant stop thinking about him! i live with my bf, and he loves the pigs too, but I'm at home 2hrs away without him, and i really just wanna go buy that little guy and bring him home! I dunno what to do! i dont wanna fight with OH, but there are no abys where i live at school that ive found, and i realllly want one! if i do decide to get him, how would i go about introducing him to the other pigs (obviously i know about quarantine etc). When i introduced roger to piglet, it was realtively easy, they got along right away. but idk how to do it to another. do i introduce to the dominant pig first, or do i do them all in the same cage? ahhh idk what to do!

It will be hard for you to get a trio of boars to get along, even if they get along at first as the youngster grows up and reaches the hormonal stage it could trigger fights and a fall out. Trios have worked though but I would recommend having 2 pairs rather than a trio, then you'll have to get another piggy as company for this one ;)

I agree 3 boars could be a recipe for disaster. I'm afraid that buying guinea pigs from pet shops just encourages breeding when there are lots of lovely piggies in rescues and yet more in bad situations because rescues don't have room for them.

I used to have 3 boars living together in a 2x7 C&C cage. As large as it is, they didn't get along. Now I have 4, separated into 2 pairs.

Since you're in the US, it's very easy to find pigs to adopt. Please don't buy from pet stores. Check http://www.petfinder.com and your local shelters.
