Heather B
Junior Guinea Pig
Hi everyone
I posted recently about my piggy developing abscesses near her throat
it feels as though there are 2 but vet says when she drains from the bottom the top is draining too so I guess they must be connected?
The lumps themselves have gone down in size but are still fairly large. The top one is hard, the bottom one softer. I had initially been able to flush 3 times daily but despite my best efforts the hole had sealed after 4 days. She is healing too quickly
she is on antibiotics, probiotics and metacalm and currently seing the vet twice a week to be assessed, lanced, flushed etc. her weight hasn’t changed (she’s a chonk- 1.25
) and is completely herself apart from this.
Can anyone offer further advice please? I’ve had piggies for 71/2 years now but have never dealt with abscesses before and I’m very worried for my special little girl
