This is right near me and they still haven't been found! Perhaps some guinea lovers here in toronto have already swooped in to kidnap them!

You'd need a lot of hay! I bet you have them in your garden.... :))

Haha! I mean I do have 2 acres for them to run around...but that's because I'm on the outskirts of the urban areas! I doubt they've gotten this far! Poor things probably traumatized by all the hustle and bustle of Toronto. I hope they get home soon

Yes, I am hoping they'll be caught soon also. IS it quite big in the news in your local area?

Have they caught the giant guinea pigs yet?

Run cappies RUN! Taste the freeeeedom:yahoo:

Not really. It's on the news but not featured specially or anything. Our basketball team is in the finals everyone is more interested in that lol

That is cool, being a Wolves fan we never get any glory (football) Basketball is one of those things like Ice Hockey that is huge on your side of the pond but rarely covered in the UK. Is baseball popular in Canada or is that a US only game?

I wouldn't say basketball is huge here. But Toronto teams have a knack for well...throwing any lead they get! So the fact that one is in the finals is insane to all of us! Baseball has a decent following here but if I had to rank them for popularity it would probably be hockey, football, then basketball/baseball not sure which of those is more popular.

Found one!

Capys are lovely, years ago there was a friendly one at the zoo on the isle of wight who i stroked for ages, was just like a giant guinea pig! If I ever have the space, I would love to have one.

They're still on the loose... awhile ago there was a potential report that they had drowned and been found in a river, but then that was disregarded as whoever saw the pictures taken didn't think they were capybaras. It was also REALLY far away from where they went missing, so hopefully they didn't meet a sad end that way. I hope they're okay and are found safe eventually. The park they are in is a decent size and has a marshy area... they may just be keeping their heads low in the marsh!

Update... apparently someone spotted one in her backyard but it escaped before anyone could get there to attempt to recapture it. But the good news is that whatever was spotted floating downstream must have been something else, 'Bonnie and Clyde' (as they have been named) must still be kickin' back and enjoying the nice weather!
