My piggies haven’t been into toilet paper tubes until lately. Now they go ham over them! But how much is too much? I don’t want them to get full over eating cardboard or bloat.

As far as i know, its fiber and its good for them. Anyone know any more?

The only thing I would do, is put hay inside of a toilet paper roll, to make it like a game for them. I recently posted a picture of mine having fun with one. I wouldn't let them eat it though. If they started eating it, I would remove it from the cage immediately.

Plain Cardboard will not harm them. I wouldn't advise letting them eat lots and lots (multiple rolls) in a day but I don't think it will harm them.

I didn't know they could eat a little. You learn something new everyday :D

Yes you're supposed to give them it to help balance the guts when they've had a bout of soft poops. I've done this a good few times for one of my previous piggies. There's no nutritional value obviously but it helps with fibre in piggies with upset digestion apparently.

No need, it doesnt harm them. Just make sure there isnt any glue on the loo rolls.

Carrot cottages are cardboard and alot of members on here let them chew away at them all day long. Its no different👍

We cut kitchen roll tubes into 2-3cm lengths to give them something to chew. Not to big, not too (Gonzo has just nibbled the hair on one of my toes as I am typing, perrils of being a Hobbit) small and no one has ever got their head stuck yet.

To the right is the remains of Dobby and Gonzo's bedroom box. They've chewed a corner post away.
The middle communal hidey box had a twin arch at the front that has had the middle support chewed away. There is usually a pile of Amazon brown paper packing in the large box for burrowing in.
The red lines drawn on the picture show the orriginal cut lines when I made them.
