I've just bought a lovely big bunch of carrots with the tops still on. They are so fresh there's damp soil on them!

Do pigs generally like carrot tops? ? Not fed them to the girls before.

Yup they love them! Maybe more than the carrots themselves! I'd wash those carrots really carefully though-the soil could be harmful

Will do. O0 Brought a veggie brush esp. for them when I brought my piggies home.

Youre like me: I bought a veggie brush, a bottle brush, a pair of margolds, a bucket, and a scrubbing brush when I bought them! :embarassed:

Its cause theyre leafy and evryone knows how cavies love leafy veg ;D

My two LOVE them!
All the carrots in my garden have gone this year...leaves were bigger than the carrots (first time I'd tried growing and didn't space them out enough so carrots were tiny)

Lidl do lovely carrots with lots of leafy tops :)

BIG BIG BIG FAVOURITE for my lot! O0 O0 gone in about five mins flat! ;D :)

Cor! They really DID love them. They had that 'can't wheek, munching' look on their little fuzzy faces as they ate. They barely drew breath in between mouthfuls! :smitten:

I did actually get mine from Lidl. And some baby sweetcorn too, but they were from Thailand... my piggies have a huge carbon pawprint this week! :o

My piggies didn't even touch the carrot tops! They must be crazy....I think I'll try them again soon after reading this thread. 98)

the carrot tops are healthier and more beneficial than the actual carrots them selves... hense why I grow row upon row of round carrots

same amount of leafage less carrot! and they look funny!

We grow those mini roly-poly (I think that's what there called) carrots and the carrots are timy but the tops are huge! Piggies love them :D
