Carrots

I've been feeding my guinea pigs carrots frequently in large amounts- is this an ok vegetable?

They are quite high in sugar, ok occasionally but not as a staple source of veg.

Here is a list of vegetables for Guinea pigs. I think carrot is quite high in sugar and can be fed sparingly.

Mine love carrots but yes they don't get fed too often. It's a bit like our chocolate.

Mine get carrot peelings every day between the five of them that's not a lot of carrot. There is not much carrot in a carrot peeling!

My two love carrot peel too and there really isn't much carrot in carrot peel. I've recently discovered they love parsnip and zucchini peel too.

2 baby carrots a day is what I've seen. Other veggies are good too. Julie M above listed a good link I would look at that.

Don't feed too much but they are especially good for winter!

My two love carrot peel too and there really isn't much carrot in carrot peel. I've recently discovered they love parsnip and zucchini peel too.

Mine love parsnip peel. They like courgette (Zucchini) too but not tried them just on the peel.
