mine have them every day, along with a mixture of greens, grass, hawthorn, buddlia, forsthia, beetroot really what ever is in season.

my piggies get some carrot everyday, but dont over do it as carrots are not the most nutritional veggie, Red Peppers (Capsicum) are the best they are even better than the green peppers containing double vitimins than green peppers and other veggies. A red Pepper also contains more vitimin C than a orange double in fact.

Not a lot, I usually just give a few (5-8 ) small chunks, sort of grape size. And that'll be daily or every other day.

I treat carrots as more of a treat than necessity like other veg is to piggies.

I personally feed carrots once or twice a week and I believe this is the general recommendation?

As a root vegetable, they have a high sugar content.

Also, they are high in vitamin A. Vitamin A is a fat soluble vitamin, so it's much harder for the body to get rid of (compared to vitamin C for example, which is water soluble, so when there's too much in the body it's excreted in the urine).

Too much vitamin A can cause toxicity, particularly affecting the liver.

Yes I read somewhere that they shouldn't have carrots everyday, something to do with vitamin A staying in ther system. Up til them they'd had them every day, now just once or twice a week.

Once maybe twice a week maximum for our lot - they're not too keen on them tbh unless I buy the little Charddonay ones :x Fussy piggies :))

mine love carrots. i usually feed them carrots every other day, chopped into chunks and hid around the cage!

About 6 slices for the girls but Alfie has a chunk as he loves carrots!
With the girls I've noticed it's always left in the bowls of a morning!
