Cat Metacam Syringe!

Does anyone have one of these syringes they no longer need? It's the one that comes with the Metacam for Cats.

I've found them the very best for syringe feeding piggies and they last for months. Simon gave me one just before Xmas and it broke last week. I had used it loads.

As I am doing a lot more syringe feeding now I really could do with one, or more! The normal syringes just about last a day, but this one will last months.
 
I have. One is still sealed up and the other one has been used a couple of times. I had them for Connie when she was ill. You are welcome to have them if you like? The sealed one in a 2.5ml and the unsealed one is 5ml

I know I did have at least one of these, but I also remember clearing out the pet cupboard lately so its anyone's guess whether its still there. I'll have a look when I get home and will let you know if I find it x
 
We have just changed from metacam to loxicom at work for dogs, and the bottles come with a small syringe for dogs up to 15kg, and a large syringe for larger dogs. We're removing the small syringe from the boxes for larger dogs and the large syringes from the boxes for small dogs (we have some...special....clients). I'll have a look to see what the ends are like, and I may be able to collect a few for you!
 
i have one from the dog metacam, not sure if its the same the hole is quite large though, let me know if you would like me to send it to you :)

Are these out the cat Metacam or the dog Metacam? The syringe I am thinking of is probably about 1 ml, although they aren't marked out in mls but in units for dispensing the Metacam. If they are out the one for cats then I am thinking the smaller one is probably the one I am after. It needs to be the one from the cat and not the dog variety.

Let me know what they are like. I had to make the opening larger in the cat one but it just works so well.

The 5ml one is the one that came with the metacam which unfortunately was dog metacam.

Sorry no, it's got to be the one from the Cat variety. It's pretty much the same size as the 1 ml syringes. I wish I still had one so I could put a pic on of it.
 
Doh, my vet gave me dog metacam today as it was cheaper than cat, otherwise you could have had one from me!

I will see if I have any old ones knocking about as I don't use them (my pigs are strangely addicted to medicine and lick their drops off my fingers...load of druggies the lot of them...)

Metacam tastes like honey...apparently....smells like ferrets to me!

I'm not very good with painkillers, one paracetamol makes me drowsy, so I may have a lick when I don't have to drive anywhere lol

tasted the tiniest bit of horse wormer once, bleurgh no wonder they all hate it!

I tasted panacur - tastes like soap! Has a soapy texture too - ick!

I'll give that one a miss then lol

Septrin smells nice, but I had an allergic reaction to the banana flavour in penicillin as a kid and reckon it must be similar!

I've managed to get hold of a cat metacam syringe, a dog metacam syringe (could work if you "modify" the hole slightly with a hot needle?) and a loxicom syringe. If you PM me your address, I can send them to you, and you can let me know if any of the others are any use, and I'll see what I can do over the next few days at work.

That's what I'm using now but they don't last very long before going stiff. The cat metacam one lasts months. Had the last one since before Xmas and it's only just broken.

Sorry, it looks like I must have thrown mine away in the clear out without thinking.
 
I'm after one of these again. The one Amanda sent me back in the summer isn't working too well now, so I am in desperate need of a new one. These syringes are fantastic for syringe feeding the dental piggies at the Sanctuary and last such a very long time.
 
We definitely had one, but not sure if we still have as I had a clear out. If I find it, I'll pm you and then post it on xx
 
I think I have one! It's got purple writing and says it's 0.5 mg/ml with pictures of cats on it? Is this what you need?

pm me your address again - I have a few things that might be useful!

Do your 1ml syringes have the black rubber bit on the end? If so, I can get hold of some that don't, it's just a plastic plunger, which I found much easier for Cameo as the black rubber bit was a pain in the bum! I also used some loxicom syringes for feeding her, they were very easy (we have a stash of them at work), and I may even have an actual feeding syringe ;)
