Hi would appreciate helpful advice on piggie with cataracts, has anyone first hand experience, one of our sows has recently been diagnosed with congenital cataracts in both eyes, one eye is now fully affected.she is eating fine, and interacting with her best friend ok,but as cataract is now established she has become a little more timid, and shy.i think it is because she maybe is trying to adjust to not seeing as well......any hints etc greatly appreciated!

My Fuzzy has cataracts in both eyes but they are not that big yet and she is coping ok. Hopefully Wiebke will come on and post as she has a whole group of cataract pigs.

I was just going to post Wiebke's the right lady to talk to.
My Rosie had cataracts in both eyes, it never affected her getting around and coming out for food etc/

Ah thank you,she is the quieter of the two "asbo's" and is naturally laid back as been the eldest,At I think 2 an a bit! I know their sight is already poor, and the younger piggie does keep look out for her, which is sweet, but any advice would be fantastic

she should be just fine, my jacob became completely blind because of the cataracts, i swear he could get around better than my seeing piggies, he sadly went to the rainbow bridge, in July, due to bladder stone op complications, he was 9 years old, the only advice i can give is please do not move the furniture around keep things where she knows they are, so no head injuries, i think alot of my piggies are going to get concusion one of these days, and they can see great.
