so i feel kind of dumb asking for advice on this but here goes; my youngest of 2, is Pepper who is approx i think 4 months old is very hyper and skittish; I'm having great difficulties because i let them out of their cage everyday for run around time, well only Pepper runs, Cinnamon just finds a corner LOL; anyway, i CANNOT catch Pepper to put her back in the cage; i was getting her to go inside a tube and picking her up that way, but she caught on to me! and now won't go near it; and i hate to say it but it's making me not take her out as much because it truly turns into a full on chase scene which i know must agitate her and can't be good! Any suggestions? Also she "wheeks" almost all the time; sometimes i just hear her from downstairs! and when i check she's alone on one side of the cage, is she lonely? or is this just normal behaviour; i think she's an Aby btw

A lot of members swear by cuddle cups/igloos, the piggy goes in because the feel safe, making it easier for you to scoop them up. I don't have that problem myself, my piggies let themselves out of the hutch and went back in when they'd had enough. Lola still does, I hope she trains the new piggy when he arrives. :tu:

Lucky you! My older one will run a but when you try but she's much more laid back and I hate to say this but a bit on the plump side! So she's much easier to catch but Pepper is almost impossible! In the US it's hard to find the cuddle cups and cozys not in pet stores and most online are from other countries or very expensive so still looking, have soft tubes right now but as I said Pepper is in to those lol

It's easy when your set up is like this, the pigs come and go as they please. ;) You can just see the late Angel on the other side of the cat flap. ;)

I use my piggies carry cage (cat carrier)filled with their favourite veg to catch them for lap time when they r in their cage and also at run time when I want them back in. They weren't used to being handled before I homed them and are skittish to pick up. Hope you find a solution soon.

image.webp Alby in his carry cage. I leave it down as a hidey at run time with the door removed so they get used to going into it and they learn it's not bad.

Ohhh that sounds like a good idea! Going to try that!

Let us know how you get on. It seems to be working for my 2.
