Heehee! My Gilbert is sooo clever! Every time I clean them out I put the top part of their cage to one side with the water bottle and hay manger still attached, and every time, after a few minutes, the hay manger crashes to the floor. I look round and Gilbert and Milo are both "bathing" in the hay and having a lovely time (before you think I'm bad, I do pile up the hay in their cage as well!).

Anyway, I always naively assumed it was just falling off with the weight of two piggies both trying to get to the hay, but no! Last night when I'd just started to clean them, my mum phoned, so I sat on the sofa talking to her and got to see what really happens.

Gilbert came over to the cage top and headbutted the manger, it only took two headbuts and the manger was unclipped at one side. Then he put his nose under the corner and in one smooth movement he pulled it away from the cage and flipped it onto the floor! Then Milo joined him and it was their usual haybathing scene! I couldn't believe it! They are soooo cute and soooo clever! x)x)x)

Piggies can be sooo clever when they have worked out a way to get at something. ;)

You should try and get your camera out next time!

I used to have a blind brown/black piggy once who had figured out how to topple over a hay bag, sniff out the opening, sneak in and go to sleep in it! She gave my hubby and his mum a really bad fright when she pulled that trick on them while I was away on holiday! mallethead
