Hi all. I am a little confused. Can guineas eat the stalks and leaves around the cauliflower. I was led to believe they were safe to give and have now just read that they shouldn't be given as they cause gas and bloating. My 2 new guineas ( only had them since yesterday ) have eaten a little cauliflower stem and leaves, a little kale some parsley and carrot today. They are both 6 months old and I have been told they have never been fed on pellets or dry mix only readigrass and fresh veg and lots of fresh Timothy hay which they use for bedding as well. What different veg can I give them on a daily basis as it seems that all the fresh veg I have brought ready for their homecoming can actually only be given sparingly. Any advice would be great. I really don't want to upset my little boys stomachs.

Cilantro is called Coriander in the UK
Cauliflower and any part of it should be fed only very sparingly - small amounts and only occasionally as it can cause or contribute to bloat. Same goes for sprouts. But mine enjoy an occasional leaf or 2.

Thank you. I have not heard of cilantro but will look it up.

The chart is very useful. Will get it copied and pin it up on wall for advice. Thank you Dog Cow

Ahh coriander that's easy to source then. Thank you. Hope the cauliflower stalks I have already given won't affect them

Cauliflower is part of the brassica family alongside broccoli, all cabbages and Brussel sprouts. All are fine to be eaten by piggies but as with everything in life moderation is key.

Can you feed the cauliflower sprouts as well as the leaves and stalks? Or just the leaves and stalks?

Do you mean the florets ? Yes, you can feed those. Mine prefer the leaves and stalks though.
