Hey, I was wondering. Do any of you have a group consiting of one boar and several sows? It's just I was wondering if their was a dominant boar and a dominant sow. I have Billy (neutured) in with Mop and Muffin and he displays your usual 'I'm the boss male behaviour' especially if he hears Whizz and Dusty rumble.
But will Mop or Muffin be the dominant female or will there just be one lead role?

I must admit i'm really not sure, i personally don't have any mixed groups but i know lots of people do have them.
I think it really just depends on the pigs in question, some girls can be quite bossy and like to keep there control on the males where as some don't mind being submissive.

Ive got a group of 6 - 1 neutered male and 5 females.

In terms of the dominant one , my neutered male is a big softie really, however he doesn't like any of the girls stealing his food - he does tell them to back off - although he never used to, he used to just let them take the food out of his mouth.

There is definitely a 'leader' of the females and the pecking order between them is very obvious - my eldest sow JJ (and the smallest surprisingly) is top sow, (if she wants to get in to the hay tray then everyone else gets out) closely followed by Summer, Tulisa, & Hannah - while Charlotte is bottom sow.
