As a starter lets say a brussel sprout each (for the festive season)
Then as the main dinner I think I think my boys will have to have their favourite which is dandelion leaves. i'm sure someone will go out in the cold to pick some for them. it's leroy and malcolms absolute favourite and they pinch them out of each others mouths.
Then some juicy melon for afterwards. Wet chins all round
I replied to this elsewhere so I'm summarise what I said; on the night before Christmas I go into Tescos or Sainsburys and they are always drastically reducing their costs of their vegetables on that night so I go in and stock up and hey presto their Christmas dinner
Cheap skate I know
I will do them each one of my 'pig (food) in a blanket' speciality!.
Recipe...
good sized cabbage leafs
a large quantity of mixed fruit & veg of their liking such as
honey dew melon
carrot
cucumber
parsley
kale
lettuce
apple
few rasins
an orange peeled
a couple of very long strands of hay
Method:
chop up all ingredients into bite sized pieces apart from the cabbage leaf
mix this all together (give the orange segments a bit of a squeeze to release some juice)
put a handfull of this mixture onto a cabbage leaf
fold the cabbage leaf firmly over the mixture to form a parcel
secure the parcel by tying with the strands of hay
Present on a silver platter to your cavies!
Yes I have lost the plot today but they love these little prezzies - well worth hanging around to see them get to the goodies inside!
