A 2x4 c&c is only recommended for 2 piggies though it does meet the RSPCA minimum size guide. Instead of having the loft are you able to expand to a 2x5 cage as this would be good for 3
Most guinea pigs do best with as much space on their main level as possible, so if you could make it bigger on the floor that would be great.
5 x 2 is a good size for 3 sows.
Thankyou to you both I can definitely expand it to a 5x2 I've got spare grids, there still babies at the moment do I keep the loft aswell they have no problems going up and down it?

You can keep the loft.
Guinea pigs are ground roaming so the bottom level needs to be the right size for the number of piggies you have. Upper levels are a bonus space but because piggies are ground roaming, lofts do not count towards the cage size for example a 16 square foot bottom level with a 4 square foot loft, does not make the cage 20 square feet, the cage is still only 16 square feet.
I would definitely keep the loft as even though it doesn’t count towards roaming space it will offer good “time away from each other” space.
I have four sows in a 6x2 C&C with a loft at each end, and it’s quite common to find one sow in each loft and the remaining two at opposite ends of the main cage! They all seem to like just chilling out on their own. They definitely benefit from the extra space.
