At the moment my guineapigs have towel and news paper for there cc cage. But id really like to have a liners which was sort of like a babys changing mat that had a wipeable surface. So we dont have to keep running the hairy piggy towels through the washing machiene. For those of you who have cc cages what do you use that is cost efficient and just in general efficient

I've bought fleece liners made by 'Pampered Piggies' and a couple from 'Guinea Dad'.
I also use an old duvet cover and a horse wash bag to protect the washing machine.

You can use old Lino as a base, it’s waterproof. Off cuts are useually very cheap from carpet shops and they are often happy to give small pieces away. It cuts quite well to size. But you will need fleece or something absorbent to soak up urine otherwise your piggies will be constantly wet and suffer from urine scald.
Anything with a wipeable surface would be a bad idea as urine has nowhere to go, liners have to be absorbent. Either ready made liners you can buy online (fleece with an absorbent layer sewn In the middle) or buying a fleece blanket and putting an absorbent layer underneath yourself. Either way, it will have to go through the washing machine, so a horse bag to wash fleeces in is a good idea.
You could go down the disposable bedding route to save on washing - aubiose, finacard, paper bedding whose name escapes me right now (but some then need a layer of hay on top to make them softer (finacard certainly does need it, i use finacard as a hutch substrate but it is not soft enough for them to walk on)) and then you’ve got disposal issues and mess to consider. Plus the extra cost of replacing disposable bedding (although there are ways to make it cost effective)

Here's some suggestions:
The vetfleece brand Inconti-pet washable puppy pad (we love these, plastic backed with a very absorbant top layer- holds 3 days worth of pee without feeling damp) topped with vetfleece or a fleece cage liner (needs washing).
Kaytee clean and cosy recycled paper bedding on top of newspaper for a completely disposable option no washing.
We use both in different area of our C&C and all the vetfleece products wash very well. The inconti-pet absorbant puppy mat doesnt attract hair or hay at all, and vetfleece brushes down very well with a cheap rubber curry comb for horses.
Definitely need something absorbant anyway...
