Hi,
So this morning my piggy Nancy had an incident with our cat, and ended up being scratched in the eye (took her straight to the emergency vets and she’s been very lucky, on meds now).
Since we got back she’s been acting strange around her sister Matilda. They’ve been together since they were born, and while Nancy is sometimes a little bossy they’ve never fought before. I’m sat watching them and I’ve had to take Matilda out the cage because Nancy has been a little aggressive towards her, making some strange noises (don’t quite know how to describe it) and she’s quietened down now.
Just wondering if this is normal because she’s injured, and should I separate them while Nancy recovers?
Thanks ❤️

@RJ004 Are they fighting to the point of bloodshed? If not then I'd try to keep them together.

It could be a reaction to the accident.

I noticed in the past that one of my mellower pigs started to nip at the others when he started to lose his sight. Maybe she can't see out of one eye.

No blood from them (other than Nancys eye) but there’s LOTS of teeth chattering, which only seemed to stop when I took Matilda back out. They’re back together now and they’re being very noisy.

Just had to take Nancy out - they started fighting, and she got a mouthful of Matilda’s fur. I’ll try to attach a video of what they sounded like

I’ve separated them (I’ll attach a photo of the cage now) but thy can still see and interact with each other. I’m just very cautious that if they are fighting Nancys eye might get worse. There’s still a considerable amount of teeth chattering between themimage.webp
