Changing Food

I usually feed my boys asda nuggets but where I live asda have stopped doing them and I've ran out of . I am in the middle of changing their food but it's only been about a week. I have no option but to give them their new food now will this cause much upset to them or should everything be fine ?

The change-over from one brand to another should be done gradually over at least a week.
Have you been increasing the new brand gradually, in with their usual? I dare say that if the two brands are similar, the piggies will be fine.
Maybe you can order some of your Asda pellets from another store with your groceries?

I have just managed to get them online so I should have them by tomorrow they have just got their new food for tonight, but I'm not sure if they will eat them so they have plenty of hay

Glad you managed to get some online. Don't know what's going on with ASDA my local one has stopped the nuggets, tubes and green oat and dandelion mix I used occasionally as a treat. Used to shop there for most groceries several times a week but they were so off hand when I enquired as to why they had stopped guinea pig supplies I am going elsewhere.

One night without nuggets will do them no harm other than making them angry! Might be worth introducing different nuggets anyway so that if you ever run out again then you will have more options. Right from the outset with my 2 I used to mix 4 different types together. Now I just give them one type at a time but buy a different bag each time. They will eat any type of nugget now so I never have to worry about getting a particular brand. I don't have to swap over gradually either, just finish one bag and then start the next no problem!
