Hello everyone!

I'm not sure if anyone else has and the same problem, but any advice would be very much appreciated!

My boys have been eating muesli since I got them, it wasn't until a week or so ago that the vet suggested I move them onto nuggets. I bought the excel nuggets and over about 3/4 days slowly started moving them on to the nuggets. However, they don't seem to be eating them now.. It seems that their bowl looks just as full as it did in the morning when I filled it up! They're eating their veggies and hay fine, it's just the nuggets they seem to not touch :( and I'm worried that they're not getting the right goodness and will be hungry!

Has anyone else had problems with moving on to nuggets? And if so is there a way to help? I wasn't sure whether it just took time or whether it's best to just give them muesli again.. Picky pigs!

Thank you!
Amy xx

Hello, Welcome to the forum by the way :) Your piggies look gorgeous. It may be worth popping a 2nd bowl in with them in and see if they will go over and eat them as well as keeping your muesli bowl in... That way you can see if they are going to start eating them.

Our first two piggies ate muesli and we could never get them to switch.... If yours start showinmg an interest and eating from the nugget bowl then maybe try them with just nuggets when in the run and switch them over that way.

Hi Amy. It actually takes a while to switch a piggy food. As you have done it now I would just carry on. Pellets only make up a tiny part of a guinea pigs diet anyway and some people do not even feed pellets. The best pellets for guinea pigs are these as they are grainless, low in calcium and sugar free,

I used to feed burgess but then found out they are full of junk. My vet recommended them but only because burgess sponsor them!
