I've registered with a new vets today, wanted one that would have some knowledge of piggies and the one i've found even does free health checks for piggies with the nurse who checks them for mites, etc. Will check their teeth and claws.

So, although i've been health checking them weekly, i've booked them both in for a free health check on Thursday. I'm also using this as a check to make sure they have piggy knowledge. So could someone tell me what should they be checking and is their any questions I can ask?

I want my babies to be in the best hands should an emergency arise in the future and don't want to find out at the last minute the vets is no good :)

My vet always listens to their heart, checks ears, ruffles the hair on their back to check the skin condition, does a physical examination by feeling their body for lumps and abnormalities particularly the stomach and genial areas, weight check. Also asks about eating and behaviour.

:)
