Charlie is already feeling very relaxed, he just flopped out in the cage and had a little nap straightaway. I love his little foot stretched out in the first photo. :)

Aww I haven't been on here for so long, these two are still gorgeous though. I'm loving his hairdo :p

Awww Charlie

Glad to see you are settling back in at home and that all your symptoms have now gone.

Please please Charlie
a) be nice to Kennypig....stop trying to eat all his food!
b) keep taking your medicine properly from your mummy and don;t spit it out!

Aunty Pebble will be keeping an eye on you both to make sure you're behaving yourselves........

It's always difficult to know when to offer help/intervention to any member on the Forum....but in this case it's really paid off!
Charlie has been diagnosed as a heart pig and is now on the proper adjusted meds to ensure he will live long and prosper!
Kenny was suffering because Charlie was robbing him of his food and that led to Kenny having gut issues/gas and a slight nutrient deficiency.

Kenzo made a very brave decision to put her trust in two complete strangers and an unknown vet. ...because she thought it was in the best interest of her pigs given that she wasn't getting anywhere fast with her own vet. The fact that she didn't wait until the very last minute ....and accepted an offer of help from experienced forum members ....has resulted in a very positive outcome for both pigs. And that's what makes all the effort worthwhile for me (300miles in trips) and East Peckham (3 weeks boarding and vets trips)

I know it's been tough on Kenzo as Charlie and Kenny have been away for longer than anticipated - but I hope all forum members will take heart from this story and, like Kenzo, accept this type of help if it is offered.

Conngratulations! So pleased they are home. Look at his little Chooken leg drool

Well done to Pebble and everyone who helped out, its thing like this that make this forum amazing.

Charlie has been very well behaved this morning, he took his medicine and he hasn't tried to get through to Kennys cage yet. He did have a mad moment last night trying to get over the barrier as Kenny had forage mix (exactly the same as he had but obviously Kennys is better).

This forum is amazing, I think I first came here last year for advice after my vet told me Kenny needed to eat cuttlefish bone for a missing tooth. Poor Kenny, I'm glad there's a place like this with people who really know about piggys! Thank you so much for helping them xx

I phoned the local guinea pig rescue and they confirmed that there are no guinea pig vets locally. They use a vet surgery that is about 15 mins on the train and 5 mins walk from the station. This vet has stopped working full time for the surgery but she comes in once a month. They told me to phone and ask to be booked for an appointment only with her. I told them the name of my current vets and she said please never take a guinea pig there again. Sbe said she knows exactly what they are like and they have a very bad reputation. So that's that, we are going try this new vet and see how it goes.
