Charlie has become really bossy lately, sitting in the food bowls so Kenny can't eat and hogging the water. They still seem to get on but I was worried Kenny wasn't getting enough food. One difference between him and Kenny though, Charlie can't climb at all. I noticed it when they first started living together. If Kenny wanted to get away from Charlie, he would sleep on top of their wooden bridge. Even though it's quite low, Charlie just couldn't get up there. Also, when I open the front of the cage, Kenny jumps out straight away and Charlie waits for me to lift him out.

Sooo, I thought if I joined two cage together, Kenny could climb from one to the other and Charlie wouldn't be able to annoy him. It works, Kenny was sleeping in the second cage this morning with his own bowl, bottle etc. I think Kenny is enjoying it. If Charlie has something nice in the first cage Kenny will come over and take it back to his cage! He even went over this morning, ate Charlies spinach and hopped back over to his cage - before Charlie even realised what had happened. :))

Hahaha how brilliant - sounds liek you have done the right thing & given your boys the bit of added space they maybe needed..

Men eh! :)

That sounds lovely. I am thinking of doing this for my two. Not that there are any problems, but I thought it would make a nice big home for them. Do you have any pics of your set up?

I just pushed the cages together and covered the doors with blankets to keep Kennys paws safe.

Oh dear. I don't know how Charlie did it, he must have worked out the ramp, but he is now in Kennys side and they are snuggled up together again. They just can't stay apart. So much for my plan!

Ahh yes, I see. Very good. Clever Charlie. At least they have more space to get away from each other if they want to. :))

Yep and more space is always good for exercise. both of them have used the ramp a couple of times in the last hour so it didn't take long for them to figure it out. Even Charlie who is not the most intelligent guinea pig - he just tipped the nugget bowl over on top of him and was walking round for ages trying to get it off his head.
