Kym
Junior Guinea Pig
Not posted on here for a while due to moving house, career etc... However, today felt the need to share.
Charlie my eldest (4 years) piggy is sick. He and his brother were quite poorly when I first had them at 8 weeks. Harry died unfortunately but Charlie is a fighter! Due to the illness as a baby he has suffered from upper respiratory problems his entire life. Never quite this bad though. Yesterday when I was cleaning the cages I let them out for a run. He was already a bit sniffly but no more than usual. Most days he will have a good run around (sniffles or not) but he didn't move at all. I was immediately concerned but just put it down to a bad sniffle. Well, he wouldn't eat or drink when I put him back and as far as I know had nothing today. I took him up the vets about an hour ago as soon as I got home from work. He is on anti-biotics and syringed baby food for the next couple of days. The vet informed me that if he didn't start to pick up by the start of next week its game over
I am devastated!
