Cheap Cucumber

WOW! if olny i lived closer to lidl!
summerfield is the closest to me, where i have to pay £1.40 for one cucumber!

Asda have theirs on offer for £1 at the moment.
 
We got one the other day. Piggies aren't overly keen on it otherwise trolley would have been full of them :)) Everywhere else they seem to be £1 or more :o We did get some cucumber halfs reduced to 12p each in Tesco the other day. If only the piggies knew the lengths we go to to get them their fav foods :))

I have to find a Lidl. £1.20-odd for cucumber everywhere else I go is ridiculous, it would be nice to see some sensible prices somewhere for once!
 
dont have a liddl near me but got 2 for 1.20 off colchester market today
14 happy munching piggies they havent had cucumber for at least 2
months so it is a real treat for them
 
got cucmbers for 98p at Sainsburys.
 
Yes the lidl near me is 49p as well! got one other day and was impressed as was 1.29 last time at morrisons
 
ohhh going tomorrow i think for some lettuce, celery and cucumber anything else good i might miss?
 
I went to Lidl last night and purchased a whole host of cucumbers - thats all i bought the man behind the counter gave me a very quizical look.

I now have seven very happy faces
 
Was there a reason cucumber got so expensive?

I get mine extra large from Sainsburys at £1.50 per cucumber but it lasts me and the piggies a good week rather than the littley ones!
 
Lidls have always been Dutch or Spanish cucumbers and as they're a 'euro' company, the exchange rate shouldn't have bothered them. Also, most are grown indoors so the weather shouldn't have mattered either. But, the price went through the roof (I fondly remember the days of 34p cucumbers in there!). Hopefully they might come back down and stay down now!
