You may find my question silly, but i am a foreigner to this country and will treat this as a good excuse ;-)
In my country, every half a year or so i used to go with my piggies to our vet to have a little general check-up on their health. They would check their skin, weigh them, check if they don`t have any lumps under their skin (I do that as well on a regular basis, but you know, I am not a professional), check their teeth; in short they would check them for anything unusual, and... give them a proper manicure (I do cut their nails regularly with special scissors, but again, a professional is a professional)
Do you do that in the UK?

Some people do others do not. It depends on the individual. Your question is not silly at all. Feel free to ask anything.

Thanks, I will come back to the tradition then, I just feel more comfortable if they are checked by a professional every now and then. i just need to find a vet in my new town (i am in the process of moving at the moment)

I did this shortly after one of mine died last year & think it is a good idea to have your piggies to the vet at least once a year. Mine tend to go there for something else & I get the vet to give them a check over while they're in. I'm very lucky with my vets, it's only £13.50 per consultation & I can usually get 3 or 4 looked at in one consultation.

thanks, the price was to be my next question, although I tend not to save money when it comes to my pets well-being, but it is good to have a rough idea :-)

I think it is a good idea to get them checked every so often.
