I think that the guinea pigs, have us wrapped around their little paws.:)) They're are almost always wheeking when we approach their shed. They have a guinea pig handmade hutch attached to the shed for warmer weather to, which then opens up into a run. Spoiled girls.:(|) Lately they have been standing up against the bars of the outdoor hutch and biting them, with squeaks inbetween, asking for veggies. Usually I am the only one who goes up and feeds them some grass or veggies through the bars, but that's changed now. Coco especially knows that if she wheeks loud enough, my brother will feed her. She stands up, on her back legs waiting.
When I open the shed, to fill the food bowls, add more hay, refresh the water etc, they are now always running around my hands sniffing for food. I'm sure they've been putting on weight lately.:p Not only that, now when I close the shed, they know I'm going, so they all run through the tube to the outdoor hutch and stand up rattling the bars. They know I can't resist stopping to feed them all a bit more grass through the bars. :<>
I have six guinea pigs, and I am now starting to really enter the guinea pig world, *sigh* what we do for the piggies.
Guessing everyone else's guinea pigs are like this?, I will have to start limiting mine with the treats they get. If everyone in my family is feeding them little treats without me knowing, that must be why they are all starting to look a little chubby.x)

It is amazing what lengths guinea pigs will go to in order to get food! They really are crazy about their vegetables. Haha.

The only time my boys stand on their hind legs with their front legs up in the air is when I am trying to lower filled vegie dishes in the cage. They mob the dishes and steal a piece before I get a chance to set them down. This event happens 3 times a day - sometimes 4 as I can't always resist Peanut Butter's wheeking for vegies.

They are greedy little things.:)) Mine squabble about who gets to come get the veggies first. As there are six of them, they chase eachother off, but they have worked around that now. I can get about five around my hand(s) at a time to feed them, as cookie the shy one gets pushed out the way too much. Not to worry as she knows now if she hangs back, I will throw veggies over the other piggies to her, so that she gets a fair share.

That's cute how Cookie has learned that! I think their greed for vegies ends up making them quite smart. When I have Peanut Butter and Hazelnut on my lap and feed them their vegie treats, PB will steal food out of Hazelnut's mouth if I'm not quick enough giving him his tidbit. Hazelnut just climbs higher up my chest waiting for me to feed him having learnt that I will provide more!
