Thoughts with you and piglet
Fingers crosses for you, I really hope all goes well.
Is he pooping yet?
When our Benny was really ill, I took him to work to give him extra syringe, as he was eating so little - it made all the difference so hopefully it should help you little guy pull through.
I know that I'm new and its a cheeky ask but my Piglet is really poorly and I was hoping that if anyone has any spare positive thoughts they could send them our way.
He's not really eaten or poo'd anything for over a week and he's stopped talking which I miss dreadfully! He's been seen by one of the vets again today and we have started him on some recovery food, some zantac in case his tummy is sore and some vitamins to top him up all in the hope we can get his guts working again.
Its been a pretty traumatic day but I'm fortunate to work at a vets and we've had several positives today - he still has gut sounds which is great and he was really keen for his recovery food at lunch time today. I fed him before I left work and he took the lot and more when I got home. He's eaten some dandelion leaf and some of his veggies. I just need poo in the hutch in the morning and I will feel much happier.
I never thought I'd look forward to a dirty hutch!
I'm so glad I found the forum over the weekend - its already made a huge difference to my confidence and understanding of him - we have until the end of this week to see how he gets on.
ounds great good luck with everythingThank you everyone! he's bright this morning and because we didn't get on too well with the syringes I've fed him off a spoon this morning. They did warn me at work that however much you think you love them once you hand feed them it increases. I thought my heart would burst listening to him chewing the spoon this morning. He's also had another dandelion leaf this morning but no sign of poo yet - although his bottom is very clean and you can feel his tummy is full now so hopefully today.
Fingers crossed! xx
So pleased to read that - it's a great feeling when they come round from the GA. I'm really pleased for you both.
He'll likely need syringe feeding for a few days still but hopefully he will soon realise that he can eat again and once he starts he'll carry on from there.
Sending you all my best for a speedy recovery.
