Chenille rug or bath mat

Helloo! I had read a lot about some people using bath mat as lining for the cages, I bought some of them but after I cut them, they just fray. Does someone has any advice on what to do with them?

Could you fold the edge inside and stitch it? Otherwise I’m not sure.

I was going to do thesame with some to line the inside of some hides. If they're made of polyester or some other plastic based fiber then the edge could possibly be melted? If not then fold and sew or folding a thin strip of some other material over the edge and sew. You can get some iron on webbing like material to stick the fabric together if you're not good a sewing.

The webbing is a fab idea!
