My Alfie's got a chest infection, went to the vets before and she said his heart is fine but he's very congested so she's gave me baytril 2x a day!
But she said if anything happens like if his breathing gets bad or after 2 weeks he's no better to take him back!

Aw, poor Alfie :( Hope he perks up very soon.
Baytril is really bitter tasting so our vet suggested we added a small amount of Ribena. Keep an eye on his poops too hun, a good probiotic is always an idea to use when piggies have antibiotics. Fibreplex is the one I always keep in, it just balances the flora in their little gut as Baytril is quite harsh.
Watch for diarrhoea too :( If this occurs, contact your vet asap and make sure Alfie gets fluids via a syringe if necessary - they can dehydrate very quickly.
My piggy lost his appetite completely when on this so had to have critical care - hope this doesn't freak you out ") but if you've not had a poorly piggy before, can be scary :...I dabbed a bit of vick vapour rub around the pen too :))
Fingers crossed he will be on top of this shortly :)

I dont think we have got ribena, he's only on 0.5ml twice a day!
I asked whether he will lose his appetite and she said no but I'm just gunna keep an eye on him!
Could a use olbas oil instead and just put it on piece of cotton wool around the outside of his cage!?
