We finished the new c&c cage last night and they went straight in. They loved it of course and its working well. Everything is still in one peice this morning but during the night, and today Ive noticed them both having a nibble on the correx. Is this ok? It wont poision them and kill them or anything?
Ive covered the bottom with vet bed so they cant get to that correx but it is still reachable in the hay loft as I dont have vet bed there. I dont know what I could do to get them to stop gnawing it.

Guinea pigs chew plastic igloos and all sorts and come to no harm, I'm sure they will be fine.

Have they got plenty of wooden things to chew on too? They need to chew to wear down their teeth. This might also help to stop them wrecking the correx too :)

There isn't really much you can do to get them to stop.
It's not going to harm them. I've seen pictures of correx with huge holes in it because some peoples piggies have just nommed it senseless.
If it were harmful, I don't think it would be used so widely and with such love and confidence for piggy cages.
You really shouldn't worry.

They just like to chew on things. You could try and distract them by putting other chews in their cage. Like those wooden twig tunnels and things but I have to admit that it doesn't stop my boys from nomming down on the correx.
I can hear them at night, chewing it like there's no tomorrow.

I wouldn't worry. They'll be fine.
It's just your purse that might be in pain if you need to replace it :))
Like me. I've had to order more because mine is just wrecked.

Thankfully we still have 2 and half more sheets which would be enough to do it over again if we needed too.

They have the wooden stick tunnel, a toy that is like rope with wood blocks on each end, a salt and mineral stone that they chew on and plenty of hay.

Maybe they are just going abit mad cos its new, perhaps when they realise it doesnt taste very nice that might not be as interested. To be honest they have chewed every inch of it just to see if its edible I think!

I just wasnt sure if it would upset their digestive system, as the little flecks of plastic wouldnt be digestable. But like you both said I'm sure its fine, and wouldnt be used so widely if any harm had ever come from it.
