Just a question as my Guinea pigs are moving into a bigger c and c cage and the proplex base is coming soon. Just wondering I have seen other Guinea pigs chew the base that comes up at the Side.
Q1. Is it safe for them
Q2. Is there any way you can avoid them from doing so.

Thanks

If you’re using fleece, then you can put the fleece up over the sides of the correx/proplex so they can’t get to it, or you can buy binder edges to cover the top of the correx.

I use binders to cover the edges and it stops mine chewing it. I have also used the fleece in the past and that works too. I used little bulldog clips to keep it in place.

I use fleece and have realised there is brown stains and the poo sometimes crumble? Anyone know why

I don’t have binder clips also for the fleece and my fleece is one attachment and isn’t big enough to tape to the top so is there any other way I can avoid them chewing the corflute

Urine will stain correx. You can clean it with white vinegar. As to why their poo is crumbly is more of a health issue so you can post your question in the health section with some more background information as to their diet then we can. Help.

You can buy binder edges to slide over the top of the correx to stop them from chewing it
