Hi I have two piggies and just today they moved into thief 3 times 4 c and c cage.
I was looking for a base for ages but I eventually found Lino because another person have used it for their Guinea pigs. So I found some black limo and it took ages but did manage to build a bit at the sides to.
I put my Guinea pigs inside their cage and they love it the only thing is every so often the start to chew the Lino just from where it comes up at the sides. U can't stop them from doing it , the Lino is all around the cage, I don't want them to ingest much of it because that's probably not healthy for them. Is there anything I can to to at least prevent or some what stop them from chewing it. Just spent £20 pounds on the Lino and there already nibbling 😂😭
Do they need more chew toys in their cage but still will that stop them from eating the Lino or can I put something over the Lino edges to make them stop. I can't really add clips and stuff because we slant a lot of money on the cage and we would need a lot of clips to add on for all around the cage. People sometimes say flece but would that work.i am not using flece at the minute I am just using dust free bedding.
Any help or advice would be appreciated thankyou

They are natural chewers and always nibble on things you don't want them too. I have the Proplex base on the outside of my C&C and they still manage to nibble on it. I know like you said some people who use fleece bedding take it up the sides and cover the base totally but you can't really do that if you use dust free bedding. You could try the plastic/pvc binders and put that over the edge of the Lino.
