Chewing...need help

Ok so my group of 10 girls are now nicely bonded but they have taken to chewing the skirting boards at 5am every morning.zzz

Their pen is full of toys and wooden chews so I can't understand why they are chewing them anyhoo, any idea's on what I could use to cover the skirting boards?
