Hi everyone,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I had to have my old guinea pig, Chipychanga, put to sleep yesterday. He was 7 years old and very sick. He had lost a lot of weight, had 3 bladder stones, a bladder infection, and his bottom molars had grown completely over his tongue. :( His last teeth surgery for malloclussion wasn't very long ago. They grew back quickly.

He was in a lot of pain yesterday. He had his eyes half shut, wouldn't eat and kept squeaking due to pain. I felt it was time to let him go.

I am having him cremating and his ashes given back to me. They are also doing up a paw print in clay.

Chipy is the guinea pig in my avatar.

Now I only have my 4 girls. Seems so strange not to have to get up early and give him his pain meds. He was on metacam daily for the stones as we couldn't operate. I'm still in shock and feel so drained and sad. :(

Very sorry :( It sounds like you did everything you could for him, sleep well Chipychanga x

Chipychanga was a very special piggie and he is going to leave a huge gap in your life. When you have devoted so much time to them they become that extra little bit special. You will always have lovely memories of your time with him and he had such a wonderful long life, despite his ongoing problems, thanks to your dedication. Sending you hugs x

I am so sorry. He will leave a big hole in your heart, but you did all you could for him and you loved him enough not to let him suffer. Hugs to you...x Run free now little piggie xx

so sorry to read this love, after your last post i wondered. He did so well to get to seven with all that going on, you obviously looked after him well.

Try to remember the lovely times you shared together.

It does always seem such a jolt when you have been closely nursing them and you lose them, just take one day at a time...it hurts like hell but does get easier with time.

Thinking of you and your girls.

Rip Chipychange, sleep well gorgeous boy x

I am so sorry for your loss. I can tell you cared for him very much.

So very to hear this, RIP Chipychanga at least he is not suffering now x

I'm so sorry to hear this. I do believe it's even harder to loose a piggy when you've been giving them meds every day and all that extra tlc. You get such a close bond.
Popcorn free little one. Enjoy eating everything you want to at the Rainbow Bridge. Hugs to you x

You did all you could for little Chipychanga, he sounds like he had a very good life and you did all you could for the little fella!

It must have left a huge hole, but he is no longer suffering.

My thoughts are with you.

Hugs xx

I am so sorry for your loss, Chipychanga will be very sadly missed - popcorn free little one xx

So sorry to hear about dear Chipychanga, he was was a lovely boy and you did everything you could for him, hugs x

Thank you so much everyone for your kind messages. The vets sent over a vase with flowers... I thought that was so kind. Also, my good friend, is making him a special cremation bead. She takes some of his ashes and glass and forms this into a bead that I will wear as a necklace. People have been so kind and I really appreciate it.

I feel blessed that I had my old boy for so long. Thank you again.
