Hello everyone!

I am currently involved in a study (I am doing this for fun, I am a scientist, but not a medical scientist) investigating the possible causes of the mysterious "chirping" sounds some pigs do every once in a while. For this purpose, I have done a short questionnaire you can fill out to contribute. Please, fill it out for every pig that you own, regardless of whether they chirp or not, to ensure a balanced dataset.

Guinea Pig Chirping Research

If you are a member of other guinea pig related communities, feel free to share the above link.

Thank you for your participation! I will be sure to share the results here, in the form of an article.

Hi @BaaaaL which institution are you affiliated to and in which country? If you are recruiting UK participants there are consent forms and ethical approval forms and data protection statements which you must supply to participants, plus a summary of what the study hopes to show and how it will inform animal behaviour research.
All basic stuff but legally you can't just ask people to take part in a study informally like this in the UK...

Sorry but data protection and ethical approval are very important issues here in the UK especially in scientific research and if you recruit UK participants they legally have a right to all this info... sounds an interesting study but a google docs questionaire would not be considered secure enough data storage for any UK study, and obviously to publish you would need to demonstrate you comply with data protection and ethical approval laws in the countries you are recruiting participants from as well as your own country...
