Chirping?

Hello!

This morning at 3am Lola started chirping, it sounded like a bird tweeting and I've only ever heard her do it once or twice before at the same time.

I read on one website that it can be because they're stressed, is this right? Or is it a happy noise? She doesn't seem stresses in any other aspect, she's popcorning now over her breakfast and she's always playing chase with her sister.

Any ideas whether it's actually a stressed Boise or a happy noise?

Sadly your guesses are as good as ours! Nobody really knows why a few piggies chirp and what it really means. They do it more often at night than during the day. Some piggies are chirpers while the majority will never chirp.

Playing chirping videos can spook piggies, even when they were not alarmed when the video was taken; perhaps because the correct situational context is missing?

As chirping is so rare and unpredictable, it is very difficult to research as to what it means and why it happens. It is one of the big mysteries.

Ah chirping! very cool to hear it. None of our piggies have ever been distressed when I have seen them do it. I watched Widget go from eating hay to chirping to going back to eating hay, no sign of distress at all

Apparently no one really knows what it means, one way or another. I had a couple of pigs that chirped occasionally (but really rarely.) There was never anything apparent to me that triggered it, and they seemed neither distressed or happy/excited. It's just one of those mystery things that the humans don't understand!
