Last year my 2 year old boar Noah chirped but never did it again. I believe this is a rare noise and no one knows for certain why they do it... I’ve never once heard my guineas make this noise in all the years I’ve owned them.
Recently he’s been making the noise on a weekly basis, last night three times and tonight twice, all on an evening,it really does sound like a bird and when I go in to see he is in a trance like state.
He’s been doing it since his cage mate Teddy has been unwell so maybe thought it’s linked? He does like in the same room as the girls, but always has done so would this effect him now? I wish I knew why he’s doing it. It’s an amazing thing to hear... how could I post it on this thread?

Nobody knows why they do it. One of those mysterious things they do like tipping the food bowl over for no reason.....

We have had some piggies that have chirpef more than once, I am sure that it is not a distress thing as I have seen a guinea pig go from eating pellets happiky to them chirping. Every other pig listening to them, and then them going back to eating as if nothing had occurred

In over 25 years of looking after guinea pigs, I have only had two guinea pigs chirp and each one I only heard once doing it.

Both seemed in a trance while chirping - it was a bird-like sound. No-one really knows why it happens.

If you do get to hear it, it is memorable and record it if you can! 👍
