Jellybean is currently recovering from severe GI STASIS. I was giving her the medication and the syringe kinda got stuck and a lot went into her mouth! Shortly after she was having dry heaves, like she was trying to cough it up. That lasted for about a minute or so.. then she started coughing. The coughing went off and on for about an hour. And they have now completely stopped. I called the emergency vet immediately and they said if she is not having labored breathing not to be concerned but I still am. She took another dose about an hour ago and did fine. No more choking and was running around her cage. Anything I should be lookng for or should be concerned about? I'm scared that now she could have fluid on her lungs.

Hi, if she is running around and eating as normal and her breathing is normal I doubt there is anything to worry about. As your vet said, labored breathing would be the thing to be concerned about and would have shown up by now if she had fluid in her lungs, All that coughing was a reflex to stop anything going down the wrong way

What a shock, sorry to here this! Great advice above and backs up what the vet said. Have a hug and healing vibes to Jellybean x
