Hi everyone
I am looking for a run for two guinea pigs. I have seen two which I like on the internet but cannot make up my mind which one to go for. Am I allowed to post links to the products so you all can have a look for me? Please advise. Thank you!

Best,
Chi

i would happily give advice!

as for recommendations if you have the money you cant do better than an eglu!

hi I was wondering why are you a junior pig? I think your allowed to post links not sure you'll have to look at the rules thread .... :-}

Yes I am new and i just read the rules...no advertising was mentioned so i wasn't sure if i post links to the products would be considered as advertising.
Anyway these are the two runs I saw:

I do have a budget issue so no more than 60 pounds I think. I know the one without shade i'd have to put a box in there which is not a problem. My concerns are ease of use and practicality. I actually like the triangular one better cos it has got shade and good price. However, I am not sure if the square one would be better for them to run around in and easier for me to catch them.

Thanks!

i have one like the first one, and they seem to like it, but it is only temporary as I keep mine outside all the time.

the second has more room so i think it is just a case of what you are looking for.

I think the square one is quite straightforward... i simply like the triangular one cos it's more compact as I have a very small garden. Just not sure if it's hard to catch the pigs in it as I guess you can only open the door on one side and they probably all rush to the other side 4 or 5 feet away!

i would gwt the 2nd one as i cant stand the tringle ones my i have 4 runs and one is a triangle one its ok putting max in i just lift the sliding thing up but to get him i have to lift the whole pen up and hope he dont run away when he dosent thankgod

i like the ones where the top lifts up on the top of the run as its easyer to get them out

Thanks that's definitely one of my main concerns as one of my piggies is still quite shy and very fast.. i know if i lose him in the garden, i will never be able to catch him. I think I will go for the square one then. Thanks again.

If you know you have a nervous piggie, then try placing something they can run into and you can lift up near to the exit - so that it's possible to lift it out easily. Your piggie will probably go for a snooze in there anyway, or retreat into it when they see you coming as it's cover and they are prey animals, then you can carefully put a hand over the entrance to stop them leaping out and lift them out without any chasing around which creates stress for your piggie. I have done this very successfully, but my piggies are now no longer nervous!

I have to say the eglu's are horrible! They are far too small & would be unbearably hot in the summer & freezing cold in the winter - if i had the money i'd not have one of these
