Here is Christian's abscess being cut open I found it fascinating. Tom however did not! It didn't half stink. At one time you can hear Tom not particularly liking the smell!

That is truly horrible- poor boy.
He needs special treats for at least a month.
It must have been painful.
 
This is oddly satisfying to watch lol. I’m glad it got removed, Christian (and you) must be relieved.
 
That was one monster pus filled abscess. Yuck doesn’t come close to what I’m feeling after seeing that.
 
I'm used to seeing abscess coz my Meemee used to have it (jaw and chin) all the time when she was alive. Not that massive though!
 
I found that very interesting so thank you for sharing.

Do you know what caused it? I don't know much about them so I'm interested to know how something like that and that big could end up inside your piggy!

That is why the vet cut it open to try and see if there was a foreign body inside it and there wasn't. I'm not sure she knows either.
 
That is foul but very interesting, good job that didn't burst. Poor Christian having to lug that around with him, bet he's glad it's gone even if he does feel a bit off after the op. Sending you both massive hugs and healing vibes to Christian. Hope you have a good night and manage to get some sleep @Betsy.
 
Wow poor little guy. Ugh. What a thing to have to feel; thank goodness he has a great piggie parent whom cares so much for him.

Thanks for posting the difficulties and updates for Christian along with the video. Great inspiration and learning experience for other piggie parents and guinea pig problems.

A little wine and treats for mom along with tlc for Christian is definitely in order again :agr::)

I am although I didn't sleep well so am feeling a bit like a zombie! Christian is brighter today but still not really eating that much so have syringe fed him mushed up pellets which he liked. Another syringe feed due anytime now. I have to wear my apron so my clothes don't get covered and Christian ends up with a mushy pellet beard!
 
Poor Christian - it was huge and must have been very painful. Thanks for the very interesting video - even though it was on the gross side!

I did wonder whether to post it or not as it is so disgustingly gross:vom: but I thought in the interests of other members and with enough warnings on it I would. I am really glad I did now! I found it absolutely fascinating but my dearest son was nearly throwing up bless him!
 
Syringe feeding can be messy but it’s worth it.
I wouldn’t feel like eating if I’d had major surgery either!
Hopefully he’ll start eating by himself again soon.
Look after yourself too.
 
Don't know if mummy wants treats after watching that. Lol
Poor Christian could have been in real trouble if that had burst.
 
Omg I don't understood how such a massive abscess fit in him. Poor boy. So much pus in it. But thanks for posting. Good to have better knowledge. Wishing good vibes. The handsome boy will be back to his usual soon. :luv::wub:
