I know it's still a little while away now, but I thought I'd check up on something. We'll be going away for a couple of days during Christmas to see some of the family - it won't be anymore than that due to work. Will the pigs be OK for a couple of days or should they be moved to someone that can look after them?

I really think you should find someone to look after them.:) They will need fresh food, hay and water every day and what if they have a fight or something or fall ill. I wouldn't ever leave any animal on its own for more than a full day.

maybe a neighbour could pop in twice a day? Just to top up water and food, and have a quick check that they are all there, all running around, and all seems to be ok.

I definitely wouldn't leave them without someone at least popping in once a day to top everything up for them. I know my girls sometimes need their hay topped up twice a day - they defnitely couldn't go a few days without everything being topped up.

I agree with the above posts, if ever we go away my neighbour checks on their daily needs filling up bottles topping up feed and hay etc but because she is elderly my mum also pops over every third day to see to any cleaning

Definitely get someone to pop in with fresh food and water and check all is well. You wouldn't enjoy your Christmas break otherwise worrying if all was ok. xx

i agree with others, you could not leave them for such long amount of time on their own.

Ask a neighbour or a friend to pop in to give them their xmas goodies and treats, and fresh water and i am sure they will be fine x

Thanks all. Think we are going to take them round to a family members for the couple of days

I just echo what everyone has said above.
It is best that they get checked everyday and topped up with fresh food, veg and water. And also if anything unexpected happened to one of them, help would be at hand asap.
